The Charles A. Tindley Academy of Music is a non-profit, after-school program providing San Francisco Bay Area youth with academic reinforcement, cultural enrichment, and life-management skills.
Academics
Having homework headaches? Kick your grades up a little higher! Tindley provides students with great tutors to assist with homework after school and inspire top performance. Students are welcomed Monday through Thursday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Our goal: every child on the honor roll.
Music
Where music matters most! Master piano technique and performance skills. Piano lessons are available by appointment Monday through Thursday and Saturday 4:00pm to 6:00pm and 9:00am to 12:00pm. Instruction also provides an introduction to the fundamentals of music theory.
Our Mission
The mission of the Tindley Academy of Music is to involve African American youth and the youth of the San Francisco Bay Area in artistic, academic, and spiritual activities that encourage discipline, commitment, and accomplishment; provide an appreciation of the African American culture and art forms, promote critical thinking as part of a challenging, exciting, and enriching musical experience.
